This statement provides an overview of how FS Claims-UK Ltd (referred to in this statement as ‘we’ and ‘us’) uses your personal information and explains your rights in relation to your personal information.
What information do we collect? • We collect the following information about you which is input by third parties who you should have been given these organisations, your consent to send or input your personal information to us, which include: • Your contact details including your name, address, phone number and email address • Information about your potential mis-sold financial product • Information about your financial status at the time of any advice, including your employment status, income and existing investments.
How do we use your information? • We use your personal information to help an SRA regulated solicitor firm or MOJ regulated claims management company asses the nature or cause of a mis-sold financial product.
How do we send and receive other documents? • We use LawConnect which is a secure cloud-based document management system that we use, that enables uploading and sharing of documents without exposing them to the risks of email, keeping them safe at all times • You or the third parties with your consent are able to upload clients documents (e.g. copies of policies, fact finds, key features, personal illustrations and or suitability reports) into LawConnect for sharing with us or for safe keeping. • We provide LawConnect at no charge and LawConnect can be accessed from anywhere in the world with an internet connection.
For how long do we keep your information? • Once we have sent the SRA regulated solicitor firm or MOJ regulated claims management company the final client file and when we are notified by the regulated company that either there is not a mis-sale or the complainant has been successful and received back compensation then within 30 days your records will be archived and kept for 6 years and then erased.
We will also share your personal information in the following circumstances: • Where we need to do so to comply with any legal or regulatory obligations (which may include sharing information with regulators); • Where necessary to protect or defend our legal rights or the legal rights of another company or person; • If our business or any part of it is sold, we will transfer your personal information to the purchaser but only those that are being processed at the time.
Where you have agreed to receive our marketing communications we will keep your contact information on an on-going basis whilst we are actively communicating with you or until you ask us to stop sending you marketing communications.
Your rights You have a number of rights in relation to your information:
